What is the recommended tire pressure of the passenger vehicles?

Any responsible driver who cares about his safety and the safety of his passengers must regularly monitor the technical condition of his car. Thus the pressure in the tires has a very important role.

The recommended pressure for each particular vehicle is indicated in its technical documentation. However, it depends on many factors - the load capacity of the car, climate, the axis of the car (front or rear), etc. It also happens that the recommended pressure parameters prescribed in the documentation do not match to the recommendations written on the purchased tires.

If you drive a passenger vehicle the recommended pressure will vary between 1.9 and 2.3 atmospheres. It is worth to be noticed that the front tires pressure should usually be slightly lower than the pressure of the rear ones (the difference is usually 0.1 to 0.3 atm.). However, it should still not exceed the maximal permissible level for a given tire.

Overpressure could have slightly good impact on the steering process and the vehicle could gain an additional stability in the corners and turns.

Insufficient pressure could lead to the increased rolling resistance and might increase as well the fuel consumption. The tires get warmer, the risk of explosion arises. It could increase as well the risk of the wheel damaging when driving on the bad roads. And what is the most important the tire itself deforms which significantly shorten its life time. As a rule, when one drives with the low pressured tires, the shoulder zones get the risk to be erased.

Too high pressure is most dangerous when driving on the wet roads or in rainy weather.
